The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 are now official and announcements by manufacturers of “custom” models are obviously popping up everywhere. We will not fail to present a good part of it to you at H&Co, but to start we wanted to come back to a new range which had leaked at the end of December 2024: the ASUS ROG Astral. The brand has just confirmed the launch of six graphics cards belonging to this new series: four RTX 5090 and two RTX 5080. The great particularity of the new air cooler used by the series: the presence of four fans, with the denier on the back of the card. A technical solution named by ASUS Quad-Fan Force. A version with autonomous watercooling of the RTX 5090 is even offered with this new ROG Astral series.
ASUS GeForce RTX 5090 ROG Astral (OC)
We start with the ASUS GeForce RTX 5090 ROG Astral et ASUS GeForce RTX 5090 ROG Astral OC. Two cards which therefore differ in terms of GPU operating frequencies, but ASUS has not yet communicated them… The cards measure 35.8 cm in length, 14.9 cm in height and 7.6 cm in thickness therefore occupy almost 4 slots, with the particularity of this new cooler which classically presents 3 fans on the front of the card, but also a 4th on the back of it:
ASUS claims that the addition of this additional fan would allow an increase in both the flow rate but also the pressure of the air flow of around 20%, we will be keen to check if all this is verified in practice when the tests of the monster will be available, we hope for the end of this month of January at the time of availability which is announced on the 30th.

We are not changing the formula for ASUS GeForce RTX 5080 ROG Astral et ASUS GeForce RTX 5080 ROG Astral OC. The frequencies are again not communicated at the moment and the design is perfectly identical to that of the big sisters, down to the dimensions which are again 35.8 cm in length, 14.9 cm in height and 7.6 cm thick.
The fan on the back is still there, but this allows us to offer you a slightly different viewing angle to better appreciate this quite impressive design, it must be admitted!
