Here we are, NVIDIA finally officially announces its next-generation RTX 5000 graphics cards architecture based Blackwell. So let’s start right away by properly presenting the cards announced by CEO Jensen Huang on the occasion of the CES 2025.
Blackwell for gamers: what was announced by the CEO of NVIDIA for the RTX 5000
Let’s first notice the new design of the Founders Edition cards. Here, the two fans are again on the same side to draw in cool air from below and expel hot air up, a cooling system based on a 3D vapor chamber and enabling a two-slot form factor. Note that all of these cards have a 16-pin power port and they will be able to support DisplayPort 2.1b (UHBR20) and HDMI 2.1a ports.
Likewise, globally, we are on the 5th generation of Tensor Cores and 4th generation of RT Cores. Then, it’s difficult not to talk about DLSS 4 and the integration of technologies RTX Neural Shaders and even a Reflex 2 reduces latency by up to 75%. All of the technologies embedded in this Blackwell generation mean that the RTX 5090 is capable of increasing power to 3,352 AI TOPS, the RTX 5080 to 1800 AI TOPS, 1400 AI TOPS for the RTX 5070 Ti and finally 1000 AI TOPS for the RTX 5070.
NVIDIA RTX 5090 Founders Edition
Here, we are on a decidedly high-end menu. We are therefore on the GPU GB202 who offers 21,760 CUDA cores. As for the memory configuration, we have 32 Go en GDDR7 with a bandwidth is therefore 1792 Go/s thanks to the bus 512-bits. The TDP is 450W. Its frequency is 2.41 GHz in Boost and 2.01 GHz in Base. As for consumption, it is indeed a TGP of 575W.
What’s beautiful here too is that it’s even in a form factor SFF-Ready with dimensions of 304 x 137 mm for two slots. This RTX 5090 will be launched on the market for January 30.
In terms of power, if we are to believe the presentation below, we can expect a nice x2 counting on the help of DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation.
NVIDIA RTX 5080 Founders Edition
Now let’s talk about the NVIDIA RTX 5080 and here we have the GPU GB203 with 10,752 CUDA cores. As for memory, we therefore have 16 Go en GDDR7. With the bus 256 bitswe have a bandwidth of 960 Go/s. Its Boost frequency goes up to 2.62 GHz and the TGP is 360W.
Announced as twice as fast as the RTX 4080, in particular thanks to the help of DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation.
NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti et RTX 5070 Founders Edition
To finish with the NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 cards, the first has a 16 GB GDDR7 memory configuration and offers a bandwidth of 896 GB/s via its 256-bit bus. Its Boost frequency rises to 2.45 GHz. For its consumption, the TGP is announced at 300W.
This model will be available during the month of February, but note that there will be no custom model for the RTX 5070 Ti unlike the RTX 5070 which will also have a Founders model.
For the NVIDIA RTX 5070we have a lighter memory configuration with 12 GB GDDR7 offering a bandwidth of 672 GB/s with a 192-bit bus. As for the GPU frequency, it goes up to 2.51 GHz in Boost. For the TGP, NVIDIA announces 250W.
NVIDIA RTX 5000: pricing and availability!
For the price, let’s start by looking at the biggest with the RTX 5090. Remember that the RTX 4090 was announced at $1599 and the NVIDIA RTX 5090 card is announced at $1999. An increase of $400.
As for the RTX 5080she is advertised at $999 and remember that the RTX 4080 was launched at $899, an increase of around $100. Finally, the cards NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti et RTX 5070 are announced at respectively 749$ et 549$.
The RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 will hit the market on January 30as for the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 you will have to wait until February.
