A 25-year-old man is fighting for his life after being stabbed Monday evening in the Saint-Laurent borough. This is a second stabbing attack in Montreal on the same day.

The individual was found by the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) around 5:45 p.m. After being injured, he took refuge in a restaurant located on Décarie Boulevard, near Rochon Street. He was conscious when he was taken to hospital.
A security perimeter was erected in the area to protect the scene while investigators and forensic identification technicians try to understand the circumstances surrounding the event. No suspects have been arrested.
Second attack
Earlier today, a 27-year-old man was stabbed in broad daylight in Montreal, on Le Plateau-Mont-Royal. Despite “significant injuries” to the upper body, there is no fear for his life, indicates the SPVM.
The attack took place at the corner of avenue du Parc and rue Milton, around 2 p.m. Several citizens called 911 to report the attack. The victim was reportedly transported to a hospital.
The suspect allegedly fled after the attack, before the police arrived. No arrests have been made by the SPVM at the time of writing these lines.
The canine unit was deployed to the scene and nearby surveillance cameras consulted.
