The guest at 8 p.m. is General Hubert Bonneau, director general of the national gendarmerie and commander of the GIGN at the time of the 2015 attacks.

10 years ago, the GIGN already expected that this type of attack could occur on French territory. On the day of the attack, January 7, 2015, the National Gendarmerie Intervention Group organized a conference on the subject. “We work on anticipation at GIGN. On January 7, 2015, we were all gathered, we were in conference with an anti-terrorism judge (…) we expected it given what was happening internationally, we knew that this could happen in France”explains General Hubert Bonneau.

The Ministry of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau, asked this Monday, January 6, 2025 to strengthen the security of large gatherings. “It’s an ongoing concern. We are in a state of maximum vigilance, particularly in relation to what has happened recently in the United States and Germany. The terrorist risk is a major risk”concludes General Hubert Bonneau.
