As of 2013, American author and doctor Freida McFadden has written more than twenty novels. Although she initially published on her own, she was quickly spotted by publishing houses with her work “The Cleaning Woman”. The latter enjoyed international success and had three other volumes: “The Secrets of the Housekeeper”, “The Housekeeper Sees Everything” and “The Housekeeper’s Marriage”.

In 2022, Freida McFadden signs a gripping suspense thriller, “The Maid”. Readers immerse themselves in the wanderings of Millie, a young woman who has just been released from prison. The latter works as a housekeeper for the Winchesters, a wealthy New York family. Events quickly take another turn when many buried secrets resurface. A situation which does not help his relationship with his boss, Nina Winchester, an unstable and toxic woman. A rumor circulates in the neighborhood that Nina tried to murder her own daughter. Millie is even more troubled as she develops feelings for her boss. But appearances seem more deceptive than they appear.
