Swiss brand Core has unveiled its Core 2, a new, lighter temperature sensor that can analyze your performance based on your body heat.
Although the temperature of the human body is generally between 36.1 and 37.8°C, it is nevertheless subject to change at certain times. Thus, during sleep, the body temperature is likely to drop while sporting activity will cause it to rise.
It is precisely for the sports environment that the Swiss brand Core announced, at the end of last week, its Core 2 temperature sensor.
A lighter temperature sensor
This is a small sensor to be attached to a strap which will analyze the evolution of your body temperature throughout the workout. However, this second version is intended to be more compact with a format 48% smaller and 30% lighter than the first Core sensor. Count on a weight of 8.6 grams without the strap or 11.4 grams with it.
The new sensor is also equipped with an LED which will allow you to check the status of the battery without having to take out your phone, as the site points out. Gadgets & Wearables.
As for the battery, it is recharged using a magnetic adapter equipped with a USB-C connector and will allow at least six days of use and up to 30 days in standby mode.
A sensor intended for sports use
The Core 2 temperature sensor is primarily intended for sports use. Connected via Bluetooth to the smartphone, it will analyze changes in body temperature throughout the exercise. The data is then analyzed by an application which will make it possible to derive certain analyzes such as the heat training load, personalized heat zones or the heat adaptation score.
The sensor can also connect directly to a Garmin sports watch or a Wahoo cycling computer using Bluetooth or ANT+ protocols. Enough to retrieve the data directly in the training analysis of your watch.
The Core 2 sensor will be launched starting next March. It will be priced at 269.95 Swiss francs, or 287 euros.
