The Charlie spirit, always. Ten years after the attacks of January 2015, a special issue of Charlie Hebdo was designed by several high school students from the Grand Est Region. An educational initiative which led the director of Charlie Hebdo, Riss, and the journalist Gérard Biard, to meet these high school students in Metz for the production of this special issue. This edition, made possible by the work of 200 high school students from 14 establishments in the region, will be “distributed from January 7 in 22,000 copies in all high schools in the Grand Est, as well as to institutional and cultural partners, and distributed free of charge to Charlie Hebdo subscribers in the Grand Est,” we learn from the Region.
Please note that as part of this outing, several highlights are planned:
- Nancy, 2:00 p.m.: Opening of the Charlie’s Humor exhibition along the facade of the Town Hall, followed by the presentation of the newspaper at the Salon Carrée.
- Reims, 2:00 p.m.: Meeting at the Jean Falala Media Library around the issues of freedom of expression.
- Strasbourg, 5:00 p.m.: Event at the Press Club with the presence of participating high school students.
At the same time, “the traveling exhibition “Charlie’s Humor” will be visible in several emblematic places, such as Place Stanislas in Nancy, the Reims Media Library, and the Press Clubs of Strasbourg and Metz,” specifies the Region. Great East. Note also that the Metz Press Club is organizing “Place de la presse 2025” on January 9, an event dedicated to press freedom.
