Cross-country skiing: Hugo Lapalus takes another podium in the general classification
It is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated stages of the cross-country skiing world cup which took place this Sunday, January 5 under the transalpine gray. The founders were in fact closing their Ski Tour at the top of the dreaded Alpe Cermis (Italy) in the middle of the afternoon.
And this nineteenth edition of the competition has once again kept all its promises. In the running for a second podium in the general classification one year after achieving his first career top 3 on the circuit, Hugo Lapalus has once again fulfilled its contract.
Quickly forward of the race as soon as the slope rose, the Frenchman had a long time resisted within a group where there were notably Simen Hegstad Krueger and Mika Vermeulentwo of the big favorites of the day. In his rhythm, Cluse nevertheless lost contact a few hectometers from the finish.

A fabulous performance synonymous with eighth final place overall for those who participated there very first Tour de Ski.
La revanche de Simen Hegstad Krueger
Disappointed and frustrated after fall occurred on Saturday during the skiathlon, Simen Hegstad Krueger had not hidden his ambitions in the early morning of this final climb. With the desire to be ” aggressive “ over the kilometers, the Norwegian had a nice card to play on a format which was particularly successful for him in recent winters.
With his bib number 29, the Scandinavian first took the time to reposition himself to quickly show the tip of his nose from the start of the last three kilometers. Little by little accelerating the tempo, he outdistanced his adversaries one by one to head towards the finish line alone.
Never caught again, the 31-year-old cross-country skier won and won his third career success at the summit of Alpe Cermis. Behind him, Mika Vermeulen also lived up to expectations. Small size, the Austrian wasted no time in showing all his ease as soon as the highest percentages arrived.
In a duel with Simen Hegstad Kruegerthe twenty-five year old young man still has ended up breaking down at the insistence and the experience of his main rival of the day. Revelation of the last months in distance, he climbs there on the podium in the general classification of the Tour de Ski for the very first time.
Well launched towards a fourth coronation on the tour, Johannes Hoesflot Klæbo started the climb at the head of the peloton. However, the Norwegian gradually lost valuable positions. Not worried though since he had more than two minutes of marginhe crossed the line in eighteenth position to join Dario Cologna on the list of the most successful cross-country skiers on this legendary event.
