Due to the precipitation that has already fallen and that forecast for this Sunday, water levels across the country will increase during the day. It is for this reason that the flood forecast service entered orange alert level at the beginning of the afternoon. The situation therefore indicates a risk of minor flooding which could lead to local flooding and damage. The Luxembourg authorities invite the population to be vigilant. The notice concerns the entire country until Monday at 8 p.m.

Regarding the south of the country, on the Alzette, water levels on the rivers are currently increasing and will continue to increase at least until this evening. Exceeding the “Red vigilance rating” on the Alzette is not yet ruled out, but the development from the evening is still uncertain.

In the north, water levels on rivers will also rise today and will continue to rise until tomorrow. Exceeding the “orange vigilance level” in Diekirch sur la Sûre is expected this evening and is also possible in Bollendorf.

Météolux also mentions gusts of wind, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., this Sunday. These are between 70 and 90 km/h and even up to 100 km/h locally.
