“There has been no major development,” in the investigation into the murder of a young man last Thursday at Angers station, said this Sunday, January 5, Eric Bouillard, the Angers prosecutor.
The tragedy, which led to the death of this young man, took place Thursday January 2 shortly before 1 p.m. It all started with an altercation at the tram stop, in the upper part of Angers Saint-Laud station.
According to the Angers prosecutor, Eric Bouillard, the young man faced a group of around four people.
A first exchange of blows took place before the victim, aged 23, ran to take refuge in the station hall where she received several blows again, including hammer blows, particularly to the head.
Despite the intervention of emergency services, the young man died on the spot.
The Angers public prosecutor’s office evokes a drama which took place in a context of drug trafficking, several people involved having been identified as gravitating in this sphere.
The organized and specialized crime division, formerly PJ, was seized of the investigation and was in particular to review the video protection images.
Technical work in progress “has not yet made it possible to question the accused”, the Angers public prosecutor said this Sunday morning.
