To replace Nuno Mendes, PSG turns to Barça

The 2024-2025 winter transfer window has arrived (during the entire month of January), so rumors around Saint-Germain are piling up. Today it is Relief which ensures that PSG is thinking of Alejandro Baldé, 21-year-old Spanish left-back from FC Barcelona (contract until 2028) in case of need to replace Nuno Mendes (22 years old, contract until 2026 and rumors of departure).

We can agree that Baldé is an interesting player and that he would be a meaningful replacement for Nuno Mendes. However, we remain very cautious in the face of a rumor that has nothing concrete. Nuno Mendes hasn’t even left and there is no question of contact.

Without forgetting that the negotiations between Barça and PSG still promise to be very difficult. Especially since the Catalan club could especially seek to keep its young full-back. There is nothing in the way of a departure. We will wait to see if there is a minimum of something in this file. For the moment, we might rather think that this will end in a contract extension.
