The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has ruled on the thorny issue concerning players Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, whose registration for the second part of the season was rejected. Despite multiple appeals from FC Barcelona and attempts to resolve the economic problems linked to financial fair play, the RFEF took a final decision, confirming the suspension of the two recruits of the Catalan club.
On January 1, La Liga had already removed the names of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor for the current season due to non-compliance with financial fair play rules. Although FC Barcelona was given a deadline to present evidence of compliance with these rules, it was unable to do so, leading to the RFEF’s decision. The monitoring committee, in its press release, specified that the two players could not be registered in the same club after the cancellation of their license, in accordance with articles 130.2 and 141.5 of the general regulations of the RFEF.

FC Barcelona now has the opportunity to continue its battle before the Administrative Court of Sport or other legal bodies, in the hope of obtaining the provisional registration of Olmo and Victor. However, the RFEF’s decision represents a major setback for the club, which sees its plan for the second half of the season compromised.
As for Dani Olmo, who was recruited this summer for 48 million euros from RB Leipzig, his situation is delicate. If the decision is confirmed, he could become free and look for a new club. As for Pau Victor, although he does not have a termination clause, he also finds himself in an uncertain position, with a contract until 2029. This new episode adds to Barça’s financial crisis and highlights the club’s difficulties facing the rules of La Liga and the RFEF.
