FC Barcelona is taking urgent measures to guarantee the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, aiming for both players to be available for the Super Cup taking place in Saudi Arabia.
The commission determined, after “analysis of the applicable federal regulations”, that it “will not issue the prior visa nor the definitive license requested by FC Barcelona for the players D. Daniel Olmo Carvajal and D. Pau Víctor Delgado”, according to an official press release.
LaLiga and the RFEF took this decision “in accordance with the literal interpretation” of Articles 130.2 and 141.5 of the RFEF General Regulations, which prevent a player whose license has been canceled from “obtaining a license with the same club during the same season.
This is precisely the case of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, who, as of January 1, 2025, will not appear on the list of players registered by Barcelona on the official LaLiga website. Both were withdrawn because due to the institution led by Javier Tebas, Barcelona did not comply with the requirements of the financial control regulations.

This situation forced Barcelona to request a new license from the RFEF, citing “force majeure” circumstances, which was rejected by the highest body of Spanish football.
The club was unable to prove by the end of the year the receipt of part of the 100 million euros it was to receive from the rental of VIP boxes at the new Spotify Camp Nou — a situation that it managed to resolve only recently after receiving international transfers from two Middle Eastern investors mentioned in the contracts.
