The FFF Higher Appeals Commission confirmed the decision to give Tours FC a match lost by penalty against Lorient in the French Cup.
Tours FC’s appeal was studied by the FFF’s Higher Appeal Commission (CSA) on Thursday January 2. The decision fell this Saturday morning. And as was to be expected, the Indre-et-Loire club lost its thirty-second French Cup match by penalty against FC Lorient. The TFC’s defense was based on the fact that the company SOS Sécurité had “blackmailed” on a sum due in the judicial recovery in order to perform the service on December 21 at the Vallée du Cher stadium.
But the CSA did not take these elements into account. The commission considers that “no one other than Tours FC can bear the consequences of its bad relations with the company SOS Sécurité, bad relations which, contrary to what the club maintains, are not a priori new, this company being one of the creditors of the club ». She therefore believes that “It is therefore Tours FC, and it alone, which, through its poor financial management which has lasted for several seasons, placed itself in this situation for the Coupe de France match against FC Lorient”.

The FFF also criticizes the club for having only informed the Prefecture of this problem the day before the match. “Considering that at no time did Tours FC see fit to warn those concerned of the problems it was encountering. Which again does not seem to reflect a very good understanding of what organizing a meeting is. » The responsibility of the TFC is therefore retained. And FC Lorient is qualified for the round of 16 of the Coupe de France. The Indre-et-Loire club can nevertheless continue the procedure with conciliation before the CNOSF. The decision has not been made.
From now on, Tours FC must manage the reimbursement of places that had been purchased. Nearly 6,000 places had been sold. A communication will be made quickly on the subject by the club.
