It took a while, but Cyberpunk 2077 has definitively won its letters of nobility. Four years after its release, the game continues to fascinate the public. Proof of this are all the projects surrounding it while waiting for its sequel! However, certain initiatives do not always completely convince fans. But the CD Projekt teams are not giving up and a developer is defending a choice that is causing debate among the community.
Cyberpunk 2077’s choice of V is explained
News around Cyberpunk 2077 has been busy these last few weeks! Between the new adaptation planned for Netflix, the board game which is launching its pre-orders and the various updates which continue to follow one another, there is plenty to do for fans.
However, disappointment arose among some after an unexpected collaboration. For last Christmas, the license joined the roster of Fortnite. This should have been a happy moment for Epic Games Battle Royale aficionados who are also fans of Cyberpunk. However, the result did not necessarily live up to their expectations.
In fact, two characters from Cyberpunk 2077 were put on sale on the store Fortnite : Johnny Silverhand and the female version of V. However, many would have liked to play the male protagonist. As a result, voices were raised to express their discontent on social networks.
Faced with this palpable irritation, a developer who worked on Cyberpunk 2077 took the floor to explain this choice. Thus, Patrick K. Mills explains that the initiative is his. On the one hand, he specifies that he “ appreciate V (woman) a little more » than its male version. Then he adds that there was already a male representation in this collaboration with Fortnite with the Johnny Silverhand skin. “ That’s all », as he himself concludes.
