CF63 has no choice but to keep it in Ligue 2 © Clermont Foot 63
This Friday, Clermont footballers are heading to Normandy, to the SM Caen pitch, for the first match of 2025.
After a week of rest for the holidays, the Clermont Foot 63 is back on the field for the first match of the year. Laurent Batlles and his men start 2025 with an away match, on the lawn of the SM Caen. Clermont is currently 15th in the Ligue 2 standings, just ahead of the Caennais, two points behind.
For the coach, we must move forward and find a new dynamic to bring back external victories and points.
We can't just take one point at home and zero points away. Today, we have to look for points outsidebe more ambitious and give more effort. If we want to move up the rankings, we will have to take points from all the matches.
Laurent Battles, coach of CF63
Same observation on the player side with the attacker Maidine Douane. For the team, there is no choice, we must ensure our survival in Ligue 2.
Since the start of the season, we have played well, we have controlled the matches but we have not come away with three points. A new championship is beginning. We want to win every match, we want to move up the standings. This is the only goal for 2025.
