The Loiret gendarmerie fined, on the morning of Friday January 3, several motorists caught filming the intervention of the emergency services, mobilized following a spectacular road accident on the A10, in Ingré.
Around 9 a.m., a heavy goods vehicle found itself immobilized across the tracks, at the central reservation. The incident created major traffic jams.
If this “spectacular accident did not cause any injuries”, it attracted “the curiosity of many motorists”, observes the Loiret gendarmerie. “The gendarmes dispatched to the scene of the intervention were able to observe that many drivers were filming or photographing the scene of the accident while driving.”
135 euros fine
Consequence: 24 offenses for using a telephone while driving “against these unconscious drivers were noted”.
“They will soon receive a letter telling them to pay the sum of 135 euros, accompanied by 3 points less on their driving license.”
For the safety of others
“The national gendarmerie would like to remind you that when a similar event approaches, you must be vigilant and reduce your speed.” Behaviors which must make it possible to ensure the safety of “the numerous people (police, firefighters, highway company, tow truck operators and others, etc.) who work to rescue people and restore traffic as quickly as possible and in the best conditions” .
