The accident could have cost the lives of the two occupants of a van who were hit by a bus on New Year’s Eve in Albigny-sur-Saône.
A spectacular accident took place on New Year’s Eve in Albigny-sur-Saône, north of Lyon. In a van, two young girls decided to overtake several vehicles while driving at high speed without looking to see if other vehicles were approaching. When overtaking, a TCL bus was traveling in the opposite direction.
The driver just had time to swerve slightly and hit the two young people’s van on the side. A maneuver which probably saved the lives of the latter who were taken care of on site by a large fire brigade.
The TCL bus was carrying around fifteen passengers. Among them, a woman was slightly injured in the head in the impact and taken to hospital. His four-year-old child was taken care of by the police while waiting for the father to arrive on site. Tests on drivers were negative.
