At least ten people died this Wednesday in Montenegro, when a man burst into a restaurant located not far from the town of Cetinje. Two minors are among the victims.
An armed man killed “several people” this Wednesday, January 1, by opening fire in a restaurant in a town in southern Montenegro, near the town of Cetinje, public radio and television (RTCG) reported, citing a police statement. An initial report shows at least ten deaths, including two minors. Both are part of the family of owners who run the restaurant where the shooting took place.
During a press conference, the Minister of the Interior, Danilo Saranovic, indicated that the facts had taken place during a “private event”. The main one is a 45-year-old man: “In the afternoon, in a restaurant in Bajice, A.M. […] killed several people using firearms. The man, who was armed, fled the building and fled,” police said.
The Prime Minister of Montengero speaks of a “terrible tragedy”. An investigation has been opened. The main suspect is still being sought.
