Actor Dimitri Boetto, known for his television roles, was arrested this Wednesday, January 1 at Lyon Saint-Exupéry station. He is suspected of having beaten his former brother-in-law to death outside a bar in Apt (Vaucluse).
Famous for his mastery of combat sports, Dimitri Boetto’s life was marked by violence. After going through the pension, the actor would have spent several years in prison for acts of criminal conspiracy and possession of weapons. It was after this dark period, when he settled in Paris, that Dimitri Boetto obtained roles in cinema and television. The actor notably appeared in the Netflix series So far, so good (2023), the movie The last queen (2023), the TV movie Next to her pumps (2023), the movie Burn out (2018) or the series Household scenese on M6.

But despite this new life, Dimitri Boetto still seems to be pursued by his old demons. The actor was arrested this Wednesday, January 1 at Lyon Saint-Exupéry station, suspected of having beaten his ex-brother-in-law to death. The events allegedly took place a few hours earlier, in the city center of Apt (Vaucluse), the 51-year-old actor’s hometown. Following a violent fight, an individual was found unconscious on the public highway, near a bar. Showing numerous traces of blows, the fifty-year-old succumbed to his injuries during the dayleading to the opening of a judicial investigation for murder by the Avignon public prosecutor’s office.
Investigators from the Apt gendarmerie quickly identified the perpetrator, who had then boarded a train at Avignon station heading to Paris. When the TGV stopped in Lyon, Lyon police officers were able to arrest the suspect. Dimitri Boetto was arrested in his wagon without resistance and was placed in police custody. The victim would be the actor’s former brother-in-law and the two men reportedly argued violently following a family disagreement. The actor admitted to the police that he did not know that his brother-in-law had died a few moments after the argument. The autopsy of the victim must take place this Friday, January 3 at the Nîmes forensic institute.
