In an interview published this Friday in L'Observateur, Mansour Faye responded to accusations concerning the allocation of agricultural land to Diama. He confirmed that he held 200 hectares in this area, specifying that this land was allocated as part of an agricultural exploitation project. According to him, this approach is in perfect compliance with legal procedures and does not in any way constitute a crime.

Mansour Faye explained that 100 hectares of land had been allocated to his name by the commune of Diama. “ The commune of Diama allocated me 100 hectares “, he said. According to him, this space was intended to support an agricultural project intended for the cultivation of rice. The ex-minister also clarified that the First Lady had been involved in this initiative, also taking space to cultivate rice intended for families in difficulty.

Concerning the other 100 hectares, Mansour Faye explained that he had convinced the First Lady to invest in the project so that she could redistribute part of the production to vulnerable populations. The project, which started with the development of these lands, is still being finalized. For Mansour Faye, these lands are exclusively intended for agriculture. “These areas are intended for agricultural exploitation. The development had been started at the time. So far, we are trying to finalize the development,” he said. The former minister insisted on the fact that there is nothing secret in this attribution, and that his name officially appears on the deliberation taken by the municipality.

Faced with those who could see this attribution as a suspicious act, Mansour Faye categorically denied any wrongdoing. “This is in no way a crime,” he said. According to him, there is no irregularity in the allocation of these lands, and everything was done in accordance with legal procedures. He added: “If tomorrow I can ask for 500 or 1000 hectares, I will do it. »
