Tom Warren the The Verge first mentioned the fact that the Nintendo Switch 2 would be barely more powerful than a PS4 Pro, information immediately contradicted by John Linneman, technical expert at Digital Foundrywhich qualifies this comparison. According to him, the new Nvidia architecture of the Switch 2 allows it to outperform the Sony console in certain areas via functionalities that it does not have.
John Linneman specifies that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be more limited in portable mode with maximum performance only in docked mode. Which is not surprising: a developer recently explained that the console will run recent AAAs. The technical expert of Digital Foundry and Tom Warren de The Verge did not reveal their sources or provide details of these technical comparisons.
If these rumors are confirmed, the Nintendo Switch 2 would offer performance similar to, or even better than, the PS4 Pro.
