There are those who want to participate, and those who isolate themselves. As for the latter, we go to meet them in their room. To approach them, we combine writing, music, laughter, through clowning, but also all his poetry…Sometimes we get great reactions, sometimes nothing, but it’s important to go. »
Touch everyone
Of course, the clowns also intervened in the collective spaces, with the most enthusiastic and the staff, very fond of this approach to residents.
For seven months, the videographer recorded these moments of exchange, to bear witness. “Sometimes families don’t really understand what exactly we do,” he says. But also to collect anecdotes, memories which will be transcribed into a collection.
“The interventions of the clowns arouse real emotions“, tell Julie Dugard facilitator at the Harcourt nursing home. “We were able to see the case of a lady, walled up in her world, who no longer expressed herself at all, starting to hum the tune that the clowns were playing when entering her room. This was very moving for everyoneto see her interact. »

“We also want to show that in nursing homes, there is life, there are things happening there. That we can live extraordinary moments thereas with the MarieBell company, its empathy, its dedication, and all the positive things that its members bring to alumni. »
She adds: “Over time, we could only see how tangible the impact of these methods is. » Indeed, whether it is equine therapy, virtual trips using the glasses of the same name, exchanges with young children, cinema, theater, clowns, experiences are always positive.
“These activities are social connections, interactions with the world, reality, but also with dreams and memories. We have found that even for those who have lost their footing, most still remember the good times, happy memories . »
