The Minister of Industry and Energy, Marc Ferracci, assures this Friday, January 3 on RMC that the reduction in regulated electricity prices of 14% announced for February is conditional on the adoption of a Finance law .
The announced 14% reduction in regulated electricity prices has not yet been fully ratified, Minister of Industry and Energy Marc Ferraci announced this Friday morning on RMC.
“Market prices are falling”, confirms the minister who assures that, “taking into account the projections”, a reduction in prices will take place on February 1st to the tune of 14%. But there is a “but”.
“But we need to adopt a finance law to clarify the framework within which taxation will apply to electricity prices,” he insists on several occasions.
“What was announced by the previous government shortly before the censorship – it was not the censorship which triggered this element – was that there would be a drop of 14% with a decree taken in this direction. But now we have a finance law,” he explains.

“The emergency situation is reinforced by the instability caused by censorship”
Marc Ferracci believes that there is a need for “compromise and dialogue” with the National Assembly for this reduction in prices to be ratified.
He concedes that France is “in a situation of deep uncertainty” and that there is “a need to clarify the situation”. “The emergency situation is reinforced by the instability that censorship has given rise to,” he says, noting that the investors and employers he meets are “worried.”
“I call on the responsibility of opposition to dialogue and compromise,” he concludes.
