Retirement time may well have come for quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The 41-year-old suggested in an interview with ESPN on Wednesday that Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins could be his last in the NFL.

“Yes, of course,” he told the media ahead of the meeting scheduled at the home of the New York Jets this weekend. It will be his 241e departure since the start of his career in the Goodell circuit.

Rodgers said he would make a decision on his future before the NFL free agent market opens in March 2025.

“I think there will be changes here and if I’m part of the changes, well I just want to make sure that everyone knows that I have a tremendous amount of gratitude for my years here,” added the veteran center. .

After having great moments with the Green Bay Packers from 2005 to 2022, Rodgers has not been able to replicate the same success on the Jets field.

The team has a mediocre 4-12 record this year after 16 games and will miss the playoffs for a 14e season away. Last year, Rodgers fell in the opening moments of the season opener after tearing his Achilles tendon.

During his career, the California native won the NFL MVP award four times and captured a Super Bowl title once.
