Recycle your Christmas tree in Montauban: give it a second life

After the holidays, Grand offers a sustainable solution for recycling Christmas trees. With 24 collection points spread across the city, your trees can be transformed into compost by Sirtomad, the joint waste treatment union.

The end-of-year holidays are now over, but you who live in Montauban, what are you going to do with your Christmas tree? Instead of throwing it away with household waste, the Greater Montauban urban community invites its residents to adopt an ecological gesture. Until the beginning of February, it is possible to drop off your tree at one of the 24 collection points provided for their recycling. These fir trees will thus be transformed into compost.

Where to leave your Christmas tree in Montauban?

Each year, around 2,000 Christmas trees are collected in Montauban for recycling. They will then be transformed into compost by Sirtomad, the joint waste treatment union. This process thus makes it possible to reduce green waste while producing useful material to enrich the soil.

To facilitate this process, Grand Montauban has set up 24 collection points throughout the city. Here is a non-exhaustive list of places where you can leave your tree:

  • In village halls: Fonneuve, Verlhaguet, Carreyrat, Saint-Martial, Falguieres, Saint-Hilaire, Fau, Gasseras, Bressols, Marché gare.
  • Public spaces: Place Lalaque, avenue Jean-Moulin (war memorial), rue de l'Abbaye (former Lidl), route du (between Cuisinella and Marie Blachère), avenue de Léojac (Intermarché du Ramiérou), Albasud zone (near Mr. DIY).
  • Other strategic locations: École Verte chemin Saint-Pierre, Quai Poult car park, Place Caperan, Square Picquart (statue of Bourdelle), Place Foch, La Fobio car park, Allée de l'Empereur, Place Guibert.

How to participate? All you need to do is remove all the decorations (balls, garlands, etc.) before dropping off your tree at one of the collection points provided for this purpose.. Synthetic trees are not accepted. This collection is free and open to all residents of the municipality.
