Indoor tennis courts will see the light of day

Postponed many times, the thorny issue of construction of six indoor tennis courts in Bessenay, Saint-Pierre-la-Palud and Saint-Germain-Nuelles was voted on during the last community council of the year, on December 19.

Included in the investment plan of the Community of Communes of Pays de L'Arbresle for two years, the construction of six indoor tennis courts in Bessenay, Saint-Pierre-la-Palud and Saint-Germain-Nuelles should see the light of day during the year.

The elected officials indeed voted to launch the markets for their construction. Two buildings with a useful surface area of 1,355 m 2 each comprising two tennis courts will be built in Bessenay and Saint-Germain-Nuelles. The third, with a useful surface area of 1,302 m 2 will be built in Saint-Pierre-la-Palud. “These buildings will not be heated and will have lighting that meets the standards of the French tennis federation,” said Yvan Mollard, deputy vice-president of Sports. The courts will be made of cast resin. »

The total amount of work amounts to 4.146 million euros, far from the initial amount which was 3.193 million euros. An increase justified by inflation and the costs of soil studies which had made some elected officials cringe (Le Pays du March 21). Subsidies are planned from the Department (100,000 euros), the State (300,000 euros) and the tennis federation (135,000 euros).

The file was adopted by majority, minus three abstentions and three votes against.
