Météo has placed the four departments of Lorraine on yellow alert for Thursday January 2.


Unsettled weather is expected this Thursday, January 2, 2025 in eastern France. Météo France has placed the four departments of Lorraine for different risks of rain-flood and snow-ice. The departments of Meuse and Vosges are also affected by additional vigilance regarding wind.

The cause is a disturbance that arrived the day before via the Channel and which will hit the country. According to the Météo France bulletin, in the first part of the day, it extends from and Poitou-Charentes to the northeast quarter. Snow should fall”more sustainably from the Ardennes to Lorraine, forming a layer of up to a few centimeters from 300/400m and more than 10 to 20 cm on the relief of the Vosges“.

In terms of temperatures, in the morning, frosts mainly affect the South-West and the Mediterranean hinterland. In the afternoon in a small northern half, it will be between 4 and 8 degrees but sometimes only 1 to 3 degrees in Champagne and Lorraine.

According to Météo France forecasts, a rise in temperatures is expected on Sunday January 5 in Lorraine with up to 11 degrees expected in the afternoon.
