Indeed, whether you are looking for clothing, household appliances or high-tech, this period can be an opportunity to benefit from significant reductions. So when do they start? What are the dates for the 2025 winter sales?
The 2025 winter sales will begin on Wednesday January 8, 2025 at 8 a.m.. They will end on Tuesday February 4, 2025 in the evening. Please note, the dates of the winter sales are different in certain territories:
- in Meurthe-et-Moselle, in the Meuse, in Moselle and in the Vosgesthe sales start on Thursday January 2, 2025 and will end on Wednesday January 29, 2025;
- in Guadeloupethe winter sales run from Saturday January 4, 2025 to Friday January 31, 2025;
- in Saint Pierre and Miquelonthey take place from Wednesday January 22, 2025 to Tuesday February 18, 2025;
- in Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martinthe 2025 winter sales will take place from Saturday May 3, 2025 to Friday May 30, 2025;
- in Reunionthe sales run from Saturday September 6, 2025 to Friday October 3, 2025. The summer sales take place from Saturday February 1, 2025 to Friday February 28, 2025.
What are the obligations of merchants during sales?
During the winter sales 2025traders must respect several rules:
- discount display : the prices before and after discount must be clearly indicated. The discount is calculated on the lowest price charged during the last 30 days preceding the reduction;
- no specific restocking : Sale items must already be in stock before the start of the winter sales. Merchants therefore cannot restock to sell new items at sale prices;
- conditions of sale : products on sale benefit from the same guarantees as non-sale items, particularly regarding hidden defects.
The objective is to guarantee total transparency for consumers, thus avoiding any misleading commercial practices.
Can a sale product be exchanged or refunded?
The refund or exchange policy during the 2025 winter sales is the same as usual. This means that stores are not obliged to reimburse you, except in the case of hidden defects. Brands can specify their conditions on the receipt or in store.
On the other hand, if you buy an item on sale online, the right of withdrawal applies. If the purchased item of clothing does not suit you, you can return it within 14 days of receiving it. The seller will have to reimburse you.
