Benjamin Bonzi is back at a very good level since the end of the 2024 season. Winner of two Challenger titles and the ATP 250 in Metz – to which we can add a final at the Challenger in Brest where he obtained a ball of match -, the Frenchman arrived in Australia full of certainties.
He took advantage of them as soon as he entered the competition during qualifying against McCabe and Andreev, then in the first round of the main draw against Alejandro Tabilo against whom he won in almost 3 hours. On Tuesday night against Nicolas Jarry, the step seemed a little high. The sequence of matches and the solidity of the 35th player in the world got the better of the Frenchman. We will nevertheless note that confidence is still there for the 75th ATP who will approach the Australian Open without pressure in ten days.
Nicolas Jarry will face Jiri Lehecka in the quarter-finals of the Brisbane Open.
The Chilean Tennis player won against the Argentinian Mariano Navone (7-5, 7-6 [7]), before his success on Wednesday against Bonzi, ranked 75th in the ATP.
