The Primevères school in Sarrebourg, in Moselle, was damaged by a fire this Tuesday evening.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the fire causing the damage was intentional.
The perpetrator(s) are on the run.
It was around 11 p.m. Tuesday evening when firefighters were called to intervene on a vehicle engulfed in flames in the town of Sarrebourg, northwest of Strasbourg, in Moselle.
Very quickly, the firefighters' attention was diverted to the Primevères school, also located in the town and affected by a fire on this New Year's evening.
No arrests
According to initial investigations and findings, the fire, which started from one of the school rooms while firecrackers in particular were used nearby, was intentional. There have been no arrests so far but the perpetrator(s) are actively being sought.
The Sarreguemines public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation. It is currently unknown whether or not the students of this establishment will be able to return to school next Monday, the start of the school year.
