Claudine is retired, she has worked all her life as a teacher and since her very first salary, at the age of 20, she has been saving. 18% of revenues in 2024

Like Claudine, the French remained cautious this year by saving at a record level. Except for the particular year of Covid, the amounts placed in the savings accounts have increased regularly for 10 years. In 2024, it will be more than 18% of disposable income.

Political instability and the uncertainties that accompany it are partly responsible for its thrifty behavior, but also the cost of certain products such as new cars, the purchase of which is very often postponed.
