3 – His home sold, this tenant found himself on the street at 70 years old
Here is a story that made react from many readers on our social networks.
Read by more than 102,000 people, the testimony of Jean-Claude Luceau, in Dinan, was very moving. Many people then took up the problem of Jean-Claude trying to find a solution.
Aged 70, this Dinan resident occupied his accommodation for 24 years. A tenant, he arrived in good shape, at 46 years old, in his attic apartment.
However, the building he occupied was sold by the heirs of its deceased owner. And while the law requires tenants over 65 to find similar accommodation, it does not take into account their aging or the pathologies that often accompany it.
Impossible for Jean-Claude to return to the attic without an elevator and the housing shortage in Dinan made the septuagenarian, retired quarryman fear the worst.
Fortunately, the story had a happy epilogue: a neighbor of Jean-Claudeowner of a two-room apartment on the ground floor, offered to rent his accommodation, which he has happily occupied since August.
2 – Hélène and her happy sobriety are gone
At PlumaugatHélène Gesret was the “heroine” of a documentary in 2023, “La Belle Hélène” filmed by her neighbor, Florence Dottin.

Many media then became interested in this woman who lived alone and had chosen this “rustic” life, without this being imposed on him by an economic imperative in particular.
But La Belle Hélène is no more. She and her happy sobriety went to another universe, in June.
Hélène Gesret died at age 94 and left many people a little alone, those who shared this joy of living without embellishmentnourishing itself on the joys of everyday life much more than on possessions or appearance.
More than 117,000 people read our article on the death of Hélène Gesret, which shows the interest readers had for his unusual lifestyle today.
