Activities are organized across the four corners of Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean on Tuesday evening to celebrate the New Year.
As tradition dictates, fireworks will light up the sky in several places, notably at Rigolet beach, in Métabetchouan-Lac-à-la-Croix, as well as in two ski centers in the region: at Mont- Édouard and Valinouët. At the latter, entertainment is planned from 7 p.m., even if the slopes are closed.
According to Valinouët’s director of marketing and communications, Stéphane Leblond, it is one of the most impressive pyrotechnic shows in the region.
It’s been a tradition for around fifteen years here, the 8:30 p.m. fires, he explains. It’s a pyromusical show, so you can synthesize a channel on the radio to listen to the music. It’s visible everywhere in the Alpine village, so it’s really impressive.
