The first upheaval will concern occasional travelers who have until now been faced with a tariff maquis: “nearly 50,000 prices” according to IDFM.
From January 1, two types of rates will come into force. The Metro-train-RER ticket, excluding Orlyval, will cost 2.50 euros whether you cross the Paris region from north to south or take the metro for three stations. A tram-bus journey throughout the region will cost 2 euros (excluding Orlybus and Roissybus).
These two titles can “cohabit on the same Navigo Easy pass, or a smartphone or a connected watch”specifies IDFM.
This pass, which already exists, but which is little known by users, allows transport to be paid for as it is used, via a post-payment which summarizes all the journeys made during the month.
Until now, it was only available on the metro and buses in Paris and the inner suburbs. But from January 1, it can be used everywhere in Ile-de-France, on all modes, thus facilitating connections between RER and buses, which currently require the purchase of two transport tickets. The ticket books are disappearing in favor of the Navigo Liberté+.
Liberté + users will pay 20% less for their ticket, so 1.99 euros for the metro, train and RER and 1.60 euros for the bus and tram.
The price of certain journeys will therefore be “divided by two, or even not four”especially for “all those who make complicated, long journeys, with many connections“, assures Valerie Pecresse. The monthly Navigo pass, however, is not intended to disappear, she clarified.
Other prices have also been clarified, such as those for traveling to airports. There are currently five, ranging from 10.30 euros to 16.60 euros. From 2025, it will cost 13 euros, whether the journey is made by bus (Roissybus, Orlybus), RER B or line 14.
They will no longer be sold from January 1st. This is the case for individual t+ tickets and cardboard Origin-Destination Tickets. “except in the few stations that do not yet have machines or ticket counters offering Navigo Easy Passes”specifies the RATP on its website.
As a result of the price reform, the Navigo Jeunes WE package as well as Orly Airport and CDG Airport tickets are also being phased out. They will be more commercialized. This is also the end of the Paris Visite zone 1 to 3 pass in favor of a single Paris Visite pass which will be valid throughout Île-de-France.
