Fire in Demi-Quartier
A fire yesterday evening in the town of Demi Quartier not far from Megève. Firefighters had to intervene shortly after 8 p.m. for a kitchen hood fire in an apartment, located on the ground floor of a 3-story building. Residents were evacuated as a safety measure before being able to return to their homes. Have the two people in the affected apartment been rehoused? The fire therefore caused damage but fortunately no injuries. Only one dog was found dead.
A paraglider hangs in the cables of a gondola
Big scare yesterday in Chamonix for users of the Panoramic Mont Blanc cable car which connects the summit of the Aiguille du Midi to Pointe Helbronner in Italy. And for good reason, a paraglider got caught in the cables of the gondola. It was early yesterday afternoon. The Chamonix Pghm rescuers therefore had to intervene. The occupants of the two-seater fortunately escaped unharmed, but they had to wait for nearly 4 hours before being rescued. Gendarmes had to hook them up to the cable of the gondola to make them rappel down. More fear than harm fortunately but the operation turned out to be spectacular.
