Embraer has announced a firm order for six A-29 Super Tucanos light attack and advanced trainers, placed by an undisclosed customer. This order will be included in the 4Q24 order book and deliveries are planned for 2026. These aircraft will feature enhanced capabilities to perform missions such as battlefield air interdiction, close air support, maritime patrol, maritime strike and other territorial defense operations.
As a multi-mission aircraft, the A-29 Super Tucano provides air forces with versatility for armed reconnaissance, close air support, light attack and advanced training missions on a single platform, which exponentially increases the availability and operational flexibility of the aircraft. Its robust airframe allows it to operate from unpaved runways in austere environments. The A-29 Super Tucano is the world leader in its category, with more than 290 orders and more than 570,000 flight hours, including 60,000 in combat.
In 2024, Embraer announced further sales of the Super Tucano to the Portuguese Air Force (A-29N), the Uruguayan Air Force and the Paraguayan Air Force.
