HARRISON: Donna Josephine (nee Kaiser) – Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Woodstock Hospital. Donna Harrison of Woodstock and formerly of RR#3 Bright in her 95th year.
Born April 25, 1930 in Cadillac, Saskatchewan, daughter of Reverend GW Kaiser (1971) and Mary (Holmes) Kaiser (1936).
Beloved wife of the late Gordon Harrison, who predeceased her on August 23, 2010 and with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. Beloved mother of Robert and his wife Ann of RR#3 Bright and Ken and his wife Kathy of Pickering. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Julie Geissinger, Jenn Downs and James Ball, James and Kate Harrison, Natalie and Kevin Therrien and his great-grandchildren Ben and Tim Geissinger, Ava Downs, Sebastian Harrison-Davis, Layla Harrison, Adelynne Therrien, Nolan Bennett and Elodie. Thérrien. She is survived by her brother Keith Kaiser of Dorchester as well as several nieces and nephews across Canada and Europe.
Predeceased by her mother-in-law Mae (Amer) Kaiser (1980), her son David (1978), her granddaughter Melissa Harrison (August 14, 2022), her sisters Evelyn (1996) and her husband Gordon (1997) Seale and Ina Kaiser (1936), sister-mother-in-law Mary Kaiser (2023) and brother-in-law Donald (1990) and wife Ruth (2013) Harrison
Donna was a member of the Peace United Church of Plattsville, a founding member of the UCW of Plattsville and the Plattsville District Heritage Society. She was very involved with the Blandford-Blenheim Chapter of the Cancer Society for over 40 years and was awarded the Queen's Jubilee Medal for community service. Donna resided on the family farm in 10th Concession for over 70 years until moving to Oxford Gardens, Woodstock in 2022.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Woodstock Hospital, 2200 Palliative Care Unit, for their care and compassion.
Relatives and friends will be received at the Glendinning Funeral Home, 40 William N. Plattsville Street, Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Peace United Church, Plattsville, on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Chesterfield Cemetery. Reception to follow.
