A New Year's Eve like no other

It was at the Beirut restaurant in Poitiers that the adventure began for the family. “My water broke at 9:45 p.m., during New Year's Eve dinner,” says Habiba, the mother. Despite this unexpected event, the family finished their meal before quietly going to the university hospital around 11 p.m.

Habiba considers herself lucky to have been in town at that time. “For my first daughter, my water broke at home, forty minutes from the hospital. This time there was no worry. I knew everything would go well, since we were very close to the maternity ward,” she confides.

An impatient big sister

While his wife remained in the hospital, Abdel, the father, made a return trip to their home in Civaux to entrust their eldest daughter to relatives and collect the maternity suitcase as well as the necessary documents. Later that day, he returned to pick up their daughter Nayla, aged four and a half, to meet her little sister.
