It’s a great feat that Ike Nwamu has just achieved. The 31-year-old Nigerian player, who arrived this season at C’Chartres Métropole Basket (CMB), won the dunk contest at halftime of the LNB All Star Game on Sunday evening.

In front of nearly 16,000 spectators and in a charged atmosphere, Ike Nwamu performed a superb “windmill” dunk in the final of the competition and won over his opponent Elwin Ndjock, player from .

I’m only beginning to realize what I’ve done! Before the dunk, you think about different things like the timing or the place from where you should start the jump… But once in the air, it’s like a black hole, as if you were no longer yourself.

The basketball player had nevertheless prepared for the event and had received advice from Chuck Millan, founder of Team Flight Brothers, an American professional team specializing in dunk.

For his club, the surprise is all the greater as the Nigerian was initially not called up for this competition. He was drafted by the National Basketball Line after the last minute withdrawal of a player.

The president of the CMB, Anthony Hermeline, does not shy away from his pleasure the day after his player’s exploit. “It’s a feeling of pride! It’s a joy for us because it highlights our club, he expresses. This shows that even in Pro B there are players of great talent, capable of achieving great things.”

This is an individual performance which could galvanize the CMB squad and help it get off to the best start to the second part of the Pro B championship season. The club is currently last in the ranking.
