The Team Jayco AlUla revealed the composition of his team for the Tour Down Under which will begin on January 21. Accustomed to being aligned for many years on his national tour, Caleb Ewan is not part of the plans of the Australian team, which preferred to rely on punchers for this 25th edition. The Australian sprinter will therefore not start his season at home, as he is accustomed to doing. Indeed, the one who has 9 victories under his belt on the Tour Down Under has only missed the Australian race three times since the start of his career in 2015.

Luke Plapp and Mauro Schmid and leaders
With the presence of Luke Plapp or Mauro Schmidambitions are clearly focused on the general classification. For Matthew Haymansports director of the team, “It’s quite a demanding course this year.” The many rugged stages of this 25th edition have surely pushed the Jayco AlUla to leave his best sprinters to rest. “The Tour Down Under offers an increasingly difficult course every year. We know that it is always very difficult to make a difference in this race and we know that the race is often won on bonus seconds, so we will definitely fighting for the general classification with Luke Plapp and Mauro Schmid.”
Alongside the duo of punchers, the Australians Luke Durbridge, Chris Harper, Michael Hepburn et Kelland O’Brien will be present. The New Zealander Campbell Sterwart will be able to play its card in the event of a massive arrival.
