CALLAN RYDZ continued his sensational form by beating Dmitri van den Bergh in the third round of the World Darts Championship.

The Riot won 4-0 to eliminate the 11th seed at Ally Pally.

He has won every set in his three matches so far, also shutting out Romeo Grbavac and Martin Schindler.

Rydz, 26, was on course to achieve one of the best averages ever recorded in a World Darts Championship, rivaling the legendary Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen.

He finished with an average of 105.31, with Van den Bergh eliminated despite playing well.

The Ciel The sports commentary team was full of superlatives for Rydz, with one saying: “I think it’s the best performance he’s ever produced.”

Rydz managed eight 180s, three more than his opponent, as well as ten 140s and 24 100s.

He will now face the winner of Ricky Evans vs Robert Owen in the round of 16.
