Last night, as part of the controls organized by the Prefecture of Naples to combat the illegal production and trade of fireworks, the State Police arrested a 47-year-old Neapolitan with a criminal record, for illegal possession of narcotics and for possession and improper trade in explosive materials. In particular, agents of the Bagnoli Police Station, during specially scheduled services, checked a garage in Bagnoli, where they discovered 2 blocks and 11 packages of cocaine, for a total weight of approximately 3 kg, a precision scale and various materials for packaging. Furthermore, in light of the above-mentioned results, the operating personnel, having reasonable grounds to believe that the subject could conceal other illegal substances, extended the search activities to other locations related to the suspect. The investigators’ intuition was positively confirmed because, in another deposit at the man’s disposal, 54 batteries of fireworks and 118 packages containing approximately 1,200 pieces of pyrotechnic fireworks were discovered and seized, with contents explosive with a total weight of approximately 40 kg. For these reasons, the defendant was arrested by operating personnel and placed in pre-trial detention in the local prison awaiting the validation hearing.
