Naples beat Venice 1-0 this Sunday as part of the 18th day of Serie A thanks to a goal from Raspadori. This victory allows Antonio Conte’s men to return to Atalanta Bergamo at the top of the championship.
Naples came back to level with Atalanta thanks to their 1-0 victory against Venice during the 18th day of the Italian Championship on Sunday. Napoli defeated Venice with a goal from Giacomo Raspadori (79th) who propelled a ball that was poorly cleared by the promoted team’s defense into the net. Romelu Lukaku had the opportunity to give Naples the lead in the 37th minute from a penalty, but his attempt was deflected by Venetian goalkeeper Filip Stankovic. After this third victory in a row, Naples totals 41 points like Atalanta, but the Bergamo club, held in check by Lazio (1-1) on Saturday, is in the lead thanks to its best goal difference (+23 against +15). Inter Milan, winner at Cagliari 3-0 on Saturday, are third, one point behind the leading duo, but with a game less. Naples can go alone in the lead next weekend on the 19th day. Antonio Conte’s team, leader of Serie A from days 6 to 15, faces Fiorentina, while Atalanta and Inter will compete in the Italian Super Cup in Saudi Arabia.
