According to a press release from the office of Sophie Brocas, Prefect of the Centre-Val de Loire and Loiret Region, the interministerial decree of December 17 published in the official journal of December 21, 2024 announces that:
- the state of natural disaster was recognized for the commune of Chantecoq (Montargis) for floods caused by runoff and associated mudslides on July 31, 2024
- the state of natural disaster has not been recognized for the commune of Vennecy (Orléans) regarding floods by runoff and associated mudslides which took place from October 9 to 11, 2024
- the state of natural disaster was not recognized for the municipalities of Le Bignon Mirabeau and Thou (Montargis) during the respective differential land movements (geotechnical drought) from May 1 to October 15, 2023 and from January 1 to December 31, 2023 .
The victims of the recognized municipality now have thirty days following the publication of this decree, i.e. until January 22, 2025to report any incident likely to bring into play the natural disaster guarantee, their insurance company or local representatives.
