Nine years after the establishment of thepostal agency in the town hall premises, the elected officials of Chauvé (Loire-Atlantique) reviewed its operation.
Indeed, with the new habits of internet orders and opening hours of the town hall 6 days a week, the package arrive in very large numbers at reception.
To relieve the work of the agents, and in agreement with the Post Office, the decision was made to install a locker (or Pickup relay) in the parking lot in front of the cemetery.
The installation was carried out very easily because the electricity supply is provided by a solar panel, thus avoiding structural work.
The service is already working
The collection service has already been active since mid-November 2024, the sending service has been operational since mid-December 2024.
“With this locker of around fifty boxes, we are counting on a 50% reduction in packages received at the town hall,” explains Jean-Michel Paillouliving environment assistant.
Parcels distributed by service providers other than Post Office subsidiaries will continue to arrive at the town hall. “With the closure of the post office inArthon-en-Retzwe had to anticipate a possible workload overload for staff. »
