Le podium

The Norwegian Fredrik Möller won the race ahead of the Austrian Vincent Kriechmayr. Switzerland’s Alexis Monney came third, who pushed his teammate Stefan Rogentin off the podium shortly before the end.

Racing scene

What happens on the road in Bormio? There were several falls during training on Friday. French ski star Cyprien Sarrazin had a particularly difficult situation. The Swiss Joshua Mettler also fell in the same place as the Frenchman. Both were seriously injured. And now there was a fatal error on the part of the Swiss Gino Caviezel. You can read more about this below.

This is how the Swiss do it

After the double Swiss victory on Saturday, there was no victory for a Swiss ski star on Sunday. The Swiss still showed a good team performance. Marco Odermatt came fifth and Franjo von Allmen sixth. Stefan Rogentin remained on the podium for a long time – until the arrival of Alexis Monney.

The winner of Saturday’s downhill race had a superb race and surprisingly finished third. After the horrific fall of Caviezel, a very good performance from the Swiss team. There are four Swiss in the top 6. Incredible!

The slope whispers

The shock was enormous. Gino Caviezel started as the first runner in the men’s Super-G in Bormio. However, after a good start, he got stuck on the gate and fell badly. A horror show.

The race was stopped and the helicopter transported Caviezel. The Swiss was airlifted to hospital to applause. Caviezel had so far been largely spared from injuries. Seven years ago, he suffered a broken collarbone and concussion after a violent fall.

This is how it happens

Next weekend the men’s slalom will take place in Madonna, followed by races in Adelboden.
