News which marks the end of an era for several generations, leaving thus several fans with a certain nostalgia. In truth, it has already been a while since the channel ceased to exist in several countries such as Australia, Italy and South Korea. This decision is part of the new strategy of the Disney teams who wish to concentrate their efforts on its Disney+ streaming platform, particularly because consumption habits have changed and younger generations are turning more to streaming than television. This change also impacts Canal+ subscribers; in fact, those who enjoyed Disney Channel and Disney Junior via one of the encrypted channel's packages no longer have access to them. More generally, beyond the closure of Disney Channel in France, as of January 1, new films, the streaming service or even channels linked to Disney will also no longer be available via Canal+.
