An 18-year-old young man suffers a tragic fate after an initial bad diagnosis.
Indeed, in September 2023, Jack, an 18-year-old Englishman, asked for a first medical opinion regarding a lump that had appeared between the ribs. The nurse consulted was then categorical: according to her, it was only a muscle tear. “She lifted Jack's shirt and she didn't even touch him or examine him and after two minutes we were outside and she said, 'Oh, it's just a pulled muscle, don't do anything what if It's not going away, come back in eight weeks'”testifies Jack's mother, Katie, in the columns of The Independent.
Sarcome d’Ewing
But two months later, another diagnosis was much less optimistic: Jack actually had a form of bone cancer, Ewing's sarcoma. And the “ball” is none other “only a tumor the size of a watermelon”. An illness that has entered its terminal phase.
Over the last 12 months, Jack has embarked on a real obstacle course: “14 chemotherapy sessions, 42 proton therapy sessions and a 12-hour operation”details the Daily Mail.
Now he's waiting to see if the chemo takes effect. Otherwise, he will turn to an avant-garde $50,000 treatment in the United States. In anticipation, his family is trying to raise the funds. If he does not need it, the money will be donated to associations fighting against the disease if he does not need to go to the USA.
