This is a question that I had never asked myself until now since I was always accompanied by experienced skiers with whom I always took great care to avoid school holidays… ????
So, here we are at the 7 laux, cars parked up to 2 pins under the main car parks of Prapoutel, it smells like a very busy day!!
Fortunately, buses have been set up by the resort to facilitate access to the lifts!
Lots of people on the slopes, of course, but I’m still surprised not to have waited so long in the queues. Only 2 big downsides in terms of crowds in the area in my opinion:
– TK du Loup (to return to Prapoutel via Les Plagnes)
– TK de l’Ecureuil (to return in the same way but from the Pincerie restaurant)
My ideal route to calmly accompany a beginner on Les 7 Laux while still trying to show them all or almost all the points of view (pouta will wait ????)
⤵️ stump (green track from TSD Bouquetins) to get into your legs
⤵️ stub + Russule + Chanterelle (beautiful sequence of blue slopes from TK slate) ideal even if artificial snow is not very well worked
⤵️ Cabris blue piste from TSD Chamois (collector often loaded with people and not so wide piste)
⤵️ Biche and Girolle (excellent blue runs in repeat from TSD Eterlou that we could only dream of being faster!!)
⤵️ The longest descent finally arrives with the sequence of blue slopes (coulemelle + Rosée des prés) to the Pleynet station!!
⤵️ The Crêt Granier blue slope is by far the wildest and hilliest, far from everything at the far north of the Pleynet station (to be repeated as many times as necessary from TS Pincerie (restaurant at the top of the TS in addition to take advantage of the incredible panorama over the north of the BELLEDONNE range)
⤵️ return to Prapoutel in total relaxation mode via the Chanterelle green slope, the longest in the resort, passing above Pipay (some interesting blue slopes here too!!
Generally excellent natural snow on the slopes above 1700. However, you can feel the less pleasant artificial snow under the soles below this altitude.
Last recommendation for taking friends to discover skiing: favor the morning while the slopes are smooth, while at the end of the day, the bumps are much more present on the slopes, hindering progress and learning.
Ski quality : 3/5
Weather report : the expected total snowfall at the top of the Sept Laux slopes is 61 centimeters over the next 9 days. Check the Sept Laux weather forecast for the full report.
